Foam cutting table with hot wire
The vertical wire cutting table is a simple manual system. Much like a bandsaw, the table has a hot cutting wire in the center and the operator will push the foam along the guides for an accurate cut. Unlike the bandsaw and other blade cutting equipment or milling machines, the hot wire process is clean, dust free, safe and noiseless. The hot wire cutting process is not a hazardous technology and it will not damage the material. On the contrary, it will leave your material with an excellent surface quality.
The frame is made of high quality anodized aluminum profiles and the cutting wire is made of a special alloy and has a diameter of 0.5 mm, so it is very resistant.
With this foam cutting table you can process expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene, some plastics and all other thermofuse foams. Straight or angled cuts, adjust the guides and push the foam onto the table. You can also make more complex shapes, such as circles for example, using a template or by following a path drawn on your material.

CROMA also offers different options that you can add to the equipment if necessary. The preshaped wire tool can be adapted on the table so you can carve a shape into the foam. This tool uses a 2 x 0.5 mm wire, manually preshaped or formed with a jig, which is displayed in place of the regular straight wire. The operator will then push the foam through this specific shape to extract the excess material.
The foam cutting table can also be fitted with wheel to be easily moved around your workshop.
